John Galliano has been suspended from Christian Dior.
According to a report by Reuters, Christian Dior has suspended the beleaguered designer for making allegedly anti-Semitic and racist remarks during a booze-fueled spat at upscale Marais café La Perle, on Thursday evening. Details of the fight remain murky at best, but Galliano has been accused of accosting a female patron after insults were traded. Galliano was taken to the police station and then escorted home; and Dior’s CEO, Sidney Toledano, has invoked the fashion house’s “zero-tolerance policy towards any anti-Semitic or racist words or behavior” in response to the recent accusations. Galliano has been chief designer at Dior since 1996.
