You know how you often have those moments where you encounter an image or experience feeling that’s uncanny, you instantly feel transported into another realm of thought? This is one of those photos for me. I came across it online and I could’nt seem to put it past me. There’s youth, potential for the future and a great sense of wonder in this image. I just love it.
“I belonged to no one — who belonged to everyone, who had nothing — who wanted everything with a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn’t even talk about — and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.”
– Lana Del Rey, Ride
I came across this illustration I thought was really funny but also very revealing in it’s significance. From Prince to GaGa to Elvis, each icon has molded an “image” for themselves with definitively, repetitive items that have become synonymous with their public image. The significance resides in the fact that you too, when it comes to fashion, can create a “self-definition” simply by the items you use. What do you think?
HOLY FASHION WEEK! yES!
As every season of fashion week swings by throughout the years, I subconsciously go through various house designer’s photos featured from their collections debuting for the first time on the runway. As I look through each collection, I always look not with my eyes but with my heart instead. DSquared2 has not only managed to puncture my heart with awe but rather, it has ripped it out from my chest and made a run for it down the streets of Italy. This collection is the absolute definition as to why I love fashion. Each garment featured from this dynamic duo is a symbol of individual rebellion and magnetic brevity. Bravo! If only I had enough lunch money to save up and buy this entire collection, I would. Yes!
One of the main reasons as to why I hardly write in my posts is because I expect for the photos, the fashion, to speak for itself. I want to let the artist of fashion communicate their own personal stories to the audience but this time, I couldn’t help myself.
